New Orleans Big Brass Circus Rock Music
To All of our Family, Friends, and Fans:
This isn’t easy to say y’all, but it’s time. At the end of this year, I will be getting off the road with Dirty Bourbon River Show.
It has been a wild and wonderful adventure y’all, better than anything I could have imagined for myself and our band. We have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people, who have been absolutely amazing to know and call our friends and extended family, and performed in front of crowds, big and small, all over this beautiful country of ours and even in Europe. But New Orleans is my home, and she’s been calling me back for sometime now.
I owe each and every one of you a sincere thank you. To Noah, Jimmy, Matt, Nick, Charlie, Sandra and Adam – thank you all for your friendship and your love for what we do. We speak a different language when we get on that stage, and I can’t possibly express enough how much you all have helped me grow as a person and a musician throughout the years. This decision hasn’t been easy for me, and y’all have been understanding and supportive throughout this process. To Jamie, John, Virginia, Curtis, Adrienne, and Chris – thank you for all for the hard work and love you put into helping artists like us every day! Y’all are amazing, and my appreciation and respect for you knows no bounds! To all of my friends and family out there scattered all over – thank you for always being there, for your support and most importantly your friendship. Especially, to every person who gave us a place to stay each night after our Shows. It would take me way too long to express how truly thankful I am such amazing humans exist and love music the way you do. Thank you! That I have such beautiful friends near and far is truly the real reward of doing what we do.
My drums and I have had quite a time with Dirty Bourbon, not bad for a kid who started playing in his garage with dreams of something bigger. Those drums went from being stuck in the attic for weeks during Katrina to traveling all over the world, and damn did we shake up some crowds! Thank you all again for your love and support, and most of all thank you for dancing!
Dirty Bourbon River Show has always been more than a band for me, more than just us playing our hearts out on stage. Dirty Bourbon has been a dream come true. An idea that continues to grow into something bigger than we originally thought. We’ve recorded over 100 songs together, performed across the world. We created and produced our own and so much more, and we did it all OUR WAY!
WE did it TOGETHER!
That fact alone fills me up with so much pride and love, y’all. I respect each and every person who has been apart of the Show, especially the guys in it! Y’all are amazing friends and musicians, and it has been an honor and the best adventure of my life to do this with y’all!
Thank you!
Your friend and drummer,
Dane “Bootsy” Schindler

Moving forward, Dirty Bourbon River Show is calling all drummers to contact us if you’re interested in touring with us full-time. That’s at least 6 months of the year of dedicated touring. We’ll be hosting auditions in New Orleans on November 30th. There’s obviously a lot of music to go through, so we’ll put together an Audition Packet of some choice tunes for you to learn. So, if you’re interested please contact us at dirtybourbon@gmail.com with some information about yourself and some media (i.e. videos, recordings, photos) that best represent your style! We’re looking forward to hearing from you!
….
P.S. Tonight we’re in Dunedin, Fl. playing at the Dunedin Brewery! If you’re in the area come on down and shake it up with us! Showtime is 9pm! See yall there!
Alright folks, it’s time for another edition of BBR!
Today I’m taking y’all back down to Louisiana, and introducing you to one of the funniest Cajuns that ever was!
Mr Justin Wilson!
If you’ve ever heard of any Boudreaux and Thibodeaux jokes or just about any Cajun jokes, it was this man who always told em best! This was another record that my Aunt Pat passed on to me, and I’m happy to share it with y’all! However, I’m unable to find any cuts online, so these cooking videos will have to do!
Yeah folks, that’s a real Cajun man!
Tonight, we’re in Grand Junction and performing at Sabrosa! We’re hitting sometime after 10pm so y’all got plenty of time to have a few drinks and get your dancing feet ready!
See y’all there!
Three truly amazing things ladies and gentlemen:
1) We’re playing in Athens, GA tonight at the Foundry as part of our Important Things Humans Should Know CD release tour. Grab your tickets here. Show starts at 8pm – we’re playing 2 sets.
2) We have a new 6th member! Adam Lessnau will be joining us as a guest trombonist though the remainder of our Important Things Humans Should Know tour. The brass is booming big now baby. Come dig his chops tonight at the Foundry, or one of our other many tour dates on the left sidebar.
3) Noah’s 10 year beard is getting out of control. He’s only 9 months in, and it already covers bowties and has a tiny refrigerator cabinet were he keeps a conservative assortment of 8 oz sodas. Somebody make it stop…
Noah is a happy, happy boy. Why? Because he just got fitted his new Embiematic guitar bridge, and it is sounding oh so sweet! Thanks so much to Mat Wilson out of St. Louis, MO for sponsoring this high quality Melita-style bridge – it even came engraved with Noah’s name. It is a special bridge – #100 off of Mat’s production line. God bless America. Noah proudly endorses Embie Concepts. All guitar players, you need to check out there website here.
Only the best my friends. And Embie Concepts is exactly that.
The Dirty Bourbon River Show is proud to announce that Miss Sandra Love will be joining us as a guest vocalist on our 4 month tour beginning next month! Sandra comes to us from Baltimore by way of Richmond, bringing a unique and soulful singing voice to the table. As a few of you may know, we’ve already done a few shows with her, and she clicked so nice we just decided to swoop her up and bring her on the road with us!
in other news we’re still looking for a full time trombonist, and a roadie as well (or concert technician, as they call them nowadays). If any one has any references please let us know! We are expanding and growing ever so fast and can’t wait for these beautiful new changes to reach their full bloom. Ad Astera per Aspera!
To all our friends and family, fans and supporters, it is with a heavy heart that we share the news that our friend, bandmate, and partner-in-crime – Charles “Big Charlie” Skinner – will be hanging up his ringmaster’s jacket and bowler hat and departing from the Dirty Bourbon River Show.
I’m sure this is quite a shock to many of y’all, but this is Charlie’s decision, and – being friends first – we support him in his desire to pursue other paths and passions. As many of you know, Charlie is an exceptional singer and performer, and we have the highest hopes for him and wish him the best in this next chapter of his life.
Charlie’s final performance with the band will be on April 4th in New Orleans for our “Important Things Humans Should Know” album release party, where we hope you’ll help us give him a proper send off. Moving forward, it is our our goal to fill the section of the stage that was Charlie’s with another trombonist. It won’t be the same, folks, but change in life is inevitable, and the show must go on. Ad Astera per Aspera!
Thank you Charlie, it was an honor to share the stage and the road with you.
Yes folks it has been done. Thirty-five years and 813 pieces later, Mark Temperato, who goes by the stage name RevM, has built the world’s largest drum kit!
Some of the parts are as far as seven or eight feet away from each other, but he’s able to hit each piece from his throne, which is impossible to see from the front.
…I can’t imagine how much money he’s spent….
But…
I can keep track of how much money our Kickstart has raised…and as of now we are still behind schedule…we have 5 days to go folks, and we really need your help! We’ve got a producer and a studio all set…please continue your support and help us make this next album a reality!!
Hello good people of Earth! Big Charlie Skinner here with some more Rhythm & Blues you should be aware of. This time it’s coming straight outa New Orleans in 1961.
Alvin Robinson is of whom I speak, I been listening to this song non stop for weeks!
So next time your at your local record shop, do yourself a solid, pick up some of New Orleans’ own soul man Al Robinson.
Speaking of bands from New Orleans! The Dirty Bourbon River Show will be tearing up the Philmore TONIGHT at 9:00PM in Ft. Wayne Indiana. So If you need some New Orleans Flavor for your Friday, come on down to 2441 Broadway.
– Big Charlie
The Dirty Bourbon River Show is proud to announce the newest member of their family, Sir Logan Van Meter:
Logan hails from Berryville, VA, and will be joining us as Band Consigliere. He is a honed jack-of-all-trades, and knows how to use a sword. Look out America.
In other news, whole bunch of new tour dates posted on the left sidebar. Kicking off April on the 6th w/ a free show at Loyola, leading up to Jazzfest on the 27th – Closing out the Lagniappe Stage at 5:25pm on the Clapton day. Super excited for that one.
That’s about it y’all. Happy April Fools Day. Party Hardy in your dad’s Ferrari. One Love – DBRS
