0 DBRS Seeking New Drummer

To All of our Family, Friends, and Fans:

This isn’t easy to say y’all, but it’s time. At the end of this year, I will be getting off the road with Dirty Bourbon River Show.

It has been a wild and wonderful adventure y’all, better than anything I could have imagined for myself and our band. We have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people, who have been absolutely amazing to know and call our friends and extended family, and performed in front of crowds, big and small, all over this beautiful country of ours and even in Europe. But New Orleans is my home, and she’s been calling me back for sometime now.

I owe each and every one of you a sincere thank you. To Noah, Jimmy, Matt, Nick, Charlie, Sandra and Adam – thank you all for your friendship and your love for what we do. We speak a different language when we get on that stage, and I can’t possibly express enough how much you all have helped me grow as a person and a musician throughout the years. This decision hasn’t been easy for me, and y’all have been understanding and supportive throughout this process. To Jamie, John, Virginia, Curtis, Adrienne, and Chris – thank you for all for the hard work and love you put into helping artists like us every day! Y’all are amazing, and my appreciation and respect for you knows no bounds! To all of my friends and family out there scattered all over – thank you for always being there, for your support and most importantly your friendship. Especially, to every person who gave us a place to stay each night after our Shows. It would take me way too long to express how truly thankful I am such amazing humans exist and love music the way you do. Thank you! That I have such beautiful friends near and far is truly the real reward of doing what we do.

My drums and I have had quite a time with Dirty Bourbon, not bad for a kid who started playing in his garage with dreams of something bigger. Those drums went from being stuck in the attic for weeks during Katrina to traveling all over the world, and damn did we shake up some crowds! Thank you all again for your love and support, and most of all thank you for dancing!

Dirty Bourbon River Show has always been more than a band for me, more than just us playing our hearts out on stage. Dirty Bourbon has been a dream come true. An idea that continues to grow into something bigger than we originally thought. We’ve recorded over 100 songs together, performed across the world. We created and produced our own and so much more, and we did it all OUR WAY!

WE did it TOGETHER!

That fact alone fills me up with so much pride and love, y’all. I respect each and every person who has been apart of the Show, especially the guys in it! Y’all are amazing friends and musicians, and it has been an honor and the best adventure of my life to do this with y’all!

Thank you!

Your friend and drummer,

Dane “Bootsy” Schindler

Ladies and Gentlemen,

It has been a strange and wonderful adventure thus far in the Dirty Bourbon River Show! So much has happened and there is so little space and time with which to explain it all.

When we last left off, our heroes had just flown across the world for what would be a most victorious trip overseas. The band, trimmed down to just a 4piece, performed in some of the coolest and most absoluIMG_3406tely beautiful places that the Swiss region had to offer. To quote Bill Murray, “We came, we saw, and we kicked it’s ass!” But seriously folks, it was an amazing feeling to not only be so well received but to also be so well taken care of. We truly couldn’t have done it all without the help of some very special people out there – you know who you are! Each night we were surrounded by good vibes with delicious food in our bellies and comfortable beds to rest our weary heads! Needless to say, we’re already working on return plans for next year!! Stay tuned!

DBRS 2569Now that we are back home though folks, it is time to move forward and embrace the many changes that life brings. With that we must say farewell to one friend and welcome another. Our recent guest vocalist and dance machine Ms. Sandra Love will be stepping off the Dirty Bourbon train and a one Mr. Nick Garrison will climbing aboard. Nick is a tremendous trombonist and really just an all around cool dude. We enjoy his playing and his company and are sure you will too. As for Ms Love, well first we want to express how grateful we are for all the good times and the great times! She’ll be dancing and singing herself crazy down here in New Orleans. If you come visit, maybe look her up!

BUT WAIT!!!! THERE’S MORE!!

Lots more in fact, for we have a BIG SUMMER TOUR in the works! A summer filled with two months of nonstop Dirty Bourbon music and revelry! Big festivals, bacon festivals, and more and more club dates being booked everyday! Yes folks we’ve got a BIG SUMMER TOUR planned that’ll take us back to familiar territory and unfamiliar too! North Carolina, Colorado, Michigan, and Wyoming to name a few! We’ve already posted some of our dates so check the calendar and start spreading the word!!

Have you ever heard of Ms. Édith Piaf? Screen shot 2015-06-05 at 10.20.19 AM

Édith Piaf, also known as “The Little Sparrow,” was a French singer who became an icon of France during World War II. Born in 1915 on the streets near Belleville, she grew up in a bordello, eventually becoming a vaudevillian street performer in her teens with her acrobat father. It wasn’t until 1935, when she was finally discovered by a nightclub owner in Paris, that she began singing professionally and would shake up the world in the 40s with her voice. Her career, which lasted until her death in 63′, produced many hits, including her most well known “La Vie en Rose.”

For this edition of BBR, I’ve chosen my new Edith Piaf record, edithedith 2

Tonight! Why tonight we’re in beautiful Boulder, CO at the gorgeous Gold Hill Inn. Showtime is 9pm! See y’all there

I’m trying to count up how many times we’ve performed in Asheville, that’s including busking as well, and we just can’t be sure anymore. We’ve been back so many times it feels like a home away from home. We’ve had the opportunity to play around the city at different bars, clubs, corners, and brew halls, and tonight we’re adding a new spot to the list.

Tonight we’re shaking the walls at Isis Restaurant and Music Hall. We’re joined by locals Raising Caine and it all kicks off at 9 PM! But make your way down before then because doors open at 5 and there’s plenty of good food.

We’re excited to make our debut in such a beautiful place and hope you can join us!

We are also incredibly thrilled to officially announce that our total amount raised for our Kickstarter project is exactly $10,600. To everyone who shared, supported and donated, we did it, folks! But really you did it, and in return we, along with Craig and everyone at The Living Room, will sweat and bleed to give you the best record we can. You have opened a huge door for us, and we’re gonna be charging through with guns blazing!

Thank you!
Boots.

1 Reach Out (I’ll Be There)

  • · History

Not too long ago I was reading an interview piece in Offbeat magazine, which is a local music magazine in New Orleans, and one of the questions the interviewer asked was, “what was the first tune you heard as a child?” Now I can’t recall the answer in the article, but I can tell you what my answer would’ve been. I sat there at our table and remembered the first time I recognized music and how it affected me.

My mother is the reason for my rhythm. She introduced me to Motown and Cuban music and Rock n Roll and the “Cha-Cha.” She may not know it, but the day she put on The Four Tops – Reach Out (I’ll Be There), she changed my world.

As a kid I had never heard anything so epic. That haunting opening line that gallops and snaps into a perfectly paced rockin’ groove, the melodies working within the instruments,  and of course the voices – I thought Levi Stubbs was singing to me. I remember listening over and over again and getting chills each time the song started and every time they snapped into the chorus and their harmonies rang out over the instruments.

It was unreal. That song changed me. It was my catalyst, that and Gloria Estefan, but that’s a different story… TONIGHT we’re in South Haven, MI at Foundry Hall! Show time is 7:30pm!! See y’all tonight!

Tonight marks the Dirty Bourbon River Show’s 200th show. It’s gonna be a special one; we’re playing a co-bill with our dear friends the Howdies. Ever heard of them?

The Howdies are a 4 piece dark bluesrock outfit tinged with rockabilly, punk, and the sounds of spaghetti westerns. They are 100% Louisiana made with 100% pure lightning, and we have done many shows with them in multiple cities/states before. Dig it:

Show starts at 8pm sharp at the Blue Moon Saloon in Lafayette, LA. IT’S GONNA BE A FUCKING PARTY.

200 Shows. Dig it:
