To all our friends and family, fans and supporters, it is with a heavy heart that we share the news that our friend, bandmate, and partner-in-crime – Charles “Big Charlie” Skinner – will be hanging up his ringmaster’s jacket and bowler hat and departing from the Dirty Bourbon River Show.
I’m sure this is quite a shock to many of y’all, but this is Charlie’s decision, and – being friends first – we support him in his desire to pursue other paths and passions. As many of you know, Charlie is an exceptional singer and performer, and we have the highest hopes for him and wish him the best in this next chapter of his life.
Charlie’s final performance with the band will be on April 4th in New Orleans for our “Important Things Humans Should Know” album release party, where we hope you’ll help us give him a proper send off. Moving forward, it is our our goal to fill the section of the stage that was Charlie’s with another trombonist. It won’t be the same, folks, but change in life is inevitable, and the show must go on. Ad Astera per Aspera!
Thank you Charlie, it was an honor to share the stage and the road with you.
We love you so much!!!
We hope will we get to see you in another capacity. We are planning to travel to New Orleans in June for a conference. Can we check you out somewhere?
Your Shepherdstown friends.

Wow. can’t believe Charlie is leaving the band. Good luck, Charlie in whatever you do. God Speed.
Sad to see you hang up your trombone and bowler, Charlie. I hope you find success and happiness in whatever’s next. You’re a great showman, and it will be hard to replace your voice and presence on the stage.
You will be missed, Charlie. Love, Angel
