Can’t make it to New Orleans?
Don’t you worry, we’ll be doing a 4 month national tour to follow. We just posted 16 new dates on our sidebar, with many more pouring in everyday! Don’t see your city there yet? Don’t worry, we’re coming for ya!… Also, on or before the album’s release, our wonderful Kickstarter donors should be receiving their sweet gift packages in the mail. Again, so so so much thanks to everyone who made this project possible – we wouldn’t have been able to make it this dope without you.
So, did you get what you were looking for? Because if not, here’s a little icing to top it all off – a live rendition of “Ezmerelda” we just finished with our friends over at the Sugar Shack Sessions:
Cheers!

Did you party hardy last night? Did you laugh, cry, kiss an ugly stranger, fall off something, and/or make a bunch of impractical resolutions you’re sure to break within a week? If you’re like the rest of the world, you did. 2014 is gone now ladies and gents and it’s time to start tackling this beast they call 2015. So… what’s in store for Dirty Bourbon?
First off, we just posted 15 new dates to our sidebar. One important one to take note of is at 9pm on January 12th we’ll be playing Rockwood Music Hall in Manhattan as part of the APAP global music industry conference. Check this one out if your in the big apple that night – a lot of good bands courtesy of our wonderful agent Prater Day.
Also, on January 7th (one week) we’ll be adding a whole bunch more dates and releasing some sweet juicy details about out next upcoming album (including art, track list, exact release date, tour schedule, and more) so make sure and stay posted for that one as well.
Additionally, Noah’s beard is half a year old now… it’s getting a little out of control as of late… and he’s still got nine and a half years left to go on that puppy. Sometimes, we wonder if Noah is loosing his mind. Speaking of which, he just finished a short film entitled: “Life, Briefly.” Check it out:
Well, that’s all for now. Stay in touch! Ad Astera per Aspera ~ DBRS
So last year we played Voodoo fest for the first time ever. It was a dream realized for DBRS, and that weekend we got to share the main stage with some truly legendary performers, including the one and only Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
Now ladies and gentleman it is my proudest of pleasures to announce to you that Dirty Bourbon will once again be playing that Halloween hootenannie that is Voodoo! This is certainly exiting, and I can’t help but add to that excitement my own….
You Damn Right!
Along with the official lineup announcement came the news that the one and only SpottieOttieDopalicious duo straight out of Stankonia will be gracing us with their Southernplayalisticadlliacmuzik! That’s right, Sir Lucius Left Foot AND mister 3 Stacks , aka Ice Cold, aka possum Aloysius Jenkins, aka Cupid Valentino, THE Andre 3000 will be performing in New Orleans at Voodoo as the legendary duo OUTKAST!
These are exiting times for the Dirty Bourbon River Show, and we would never have had these incredible opportunities if it wasn’t for the continued support of YOU our wonderful fans, so thank you. If you would like to further support the Dirty Bourbon River, you can do so by helping to fund the recording of our next studio album.
Peace
-Big Charlie
Y’all hear about this one yet? A new top secret Wu-Tang album has surfaced… And get this… They will only be selling one copy of it to the highest bidder…
Apparently the RZA has already been offered 5 mil for it. You can already peep a 51 second sample of the album (which oddly enough, features Cher) on Forbes.com. It was produced over a 6 year period by Cilvaringz under “the tutelage of the RZA”, and is currently being held in a vault in the Grand Mansour in Marrakesh.
Not making this up.
DBRS at CSPS in Cedar Rapids, IA tonight at 7pm.
Wu-Tang.
That’s right folks! You read it correctly! DBRS is releasing a free full-length album tomorrow! The album will be made available exclusively on our dbrs.bandcamp.com site for free (or, leave behind a little gift if you want! hint hint!) for the next 30 days. A limited edition hand-signed 180 gram vinyl will follow in the spring. Also, to celebrate, we’ll be playing a special New Years Eve show at the Maison on Frenchmen Street in New Orleans tomorrow night at 10pm.
So, whatchya gonna do tomorrow? Go to dbrs.bandcamp.com and download our new album for free, then come see us do it live and in person at the Maison. Not a bad way to bring in the new year at all we’d say. Oh, and we almost forgot – you can preview two of the album’s tracks you’ll be downloading tomorrow right here right now:
This is exciting! Check this out:
While sifting through an old box of CD’s given to us by a retired Irish dentist named Ken from Farmington, Arkansas, we came across a very rare gem – a collection of Tom Waits and Bob Dylan duets entitled “Tom and Bob”. The CD is very scratched, and only 4 of the tracks will play. We could not find any remaining tracks on the internet anywhere, so we looked up the record company who had distributed the album. Our research yielded some interesting information…
In the mid and late 90’s there was a small label based out of Southern California who produced and released the album – We have contacted the owner (who wishes to remain anonymous) and they are no longer in business, nor pressing any re-issues. He did give us permission however to publish the playable tracks. He is currently attempting to restore the masters, and when he does hopefully we will be able to get a copy, but in the meantime, you can view what we could rescue from the CD on our Youtube Channel or download them from a Bandcamp called Tom and Bob.
The 1st duet – which opens the album – is a particularly interesting version of Sonny and Cher’s “I Got You Babe”:
The 2nd duet is a slamming rendition of the Starland Vocal Band’s “Afternoon Delight”. Tom and Bob really hit the spot with this one:
The 3rd duet is a slightly unsettling father-daughter duet of Bob Carlisle’s “Butterfly Kisses”:
The 4th and final duet is a truly amazing rendition of the Beastie Boy’s “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party)”. From everything we can tell, Arnold Schwarzenegger appears on this track as well:
Hope you enjoy! We sure did!
Ladies & Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, Locals and Folks from Around the World – Here is everything you need to know about Volume Four:
May 25th we will release “Volume Four”. It will be our last volume. The CD will be available on iTunes and our Bandcamp page (dbrs.bandcamp.com). New song from the album “Dear Grandma” just posted there. Dig it.
To celebrate we will also be releasing a music video for “Jewish Girls Who Went To Art School Know All The Angles” on that day on our Youtube channel, and throwing a party that night (10pm) at the Blue Nile to celebrate the CD’s release. Live in New Orleans? Come on down to Frenchmen Street, pick up a physical copy and celebrate with us. Facebook event HERE.
Don’t live in New Orleans? Fear not… There’ll be a full national tour to support its release. Dates & more info on the sidebar to the left.
May 25th. Volume Four. iTunes/Bandcamp and at the Blue Nile. Dig it.
