During Blissfest I had the absolute pleasure of seeing Baskery, a ridiculously badass trio of sisters from Stockholm, Sweden. Consisting of Sunniva on guitar, Stella on upright bass, and Greta on banjo and snare and bass drum played with her feet. These sisters rock out hard and sing glorious three part harmony throughout. I was lucky enough to hang out with them for a little bit and I got Stella and Sunniva to play Suzy. It was a great day. And now without further ado, the most beautiful bassist and guitarist from Stockholm, Stella and Sunniva!
We had a day off after playing Blissfest so we ended up chilling at a Polish camp. Excellent people. We shared some music and they shared a lot of vodka. Good times all around. Now without further ado, the most beautiful Polish waitresses, hostess, and cooks in Harbor Springs, Michigan, Asia, Vela, Malwina, Daniella, and Ada!
P.S. Gig tonight at Barley’s Taphouse and Pizzeria in Knoxville, Tennessee. Show starts at 10.
We got a real special one today, my absolute favorite so far. After our second set at Blissfest, we were charged with heading the Children’s 2nd Line Parade. Right before we were supposed to start, a little badass came up to me and told me she wanted to play my horn. I was excited to see what she could do and she did not disappoint. She has some mighty lungs in that tiny frame. Without further ado, it is my utmost pleasure to introduce to you, the most adorable dancer/ukulele player/budding tubist, Zoë!
P.S. Gig tonight at Bastille Days Festival in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Come join us at the Cathedral Square Stage. Show starts at 7.
Suzy got blown off stage by a strong gust of wind in Crested Butte, CO and she landed on her bell. It really sucked, but it could have been much worse. We had a few days off back home so I got my horn fixed by Stafford Agee, trombonist for Rebirth Brass Band and an excellent human being. I can’t thank him enough for taking time out of his very busy schedule to help make Suzy whole again.
Step 3: Magnetic dent removal
So much better. Stafford is the man. Now it’s time to get to Chicago.
