We sincerely hope y’all can make it out, we’ve been working on this one for awhile and the excitement is like that of a child on Christmas morning (for real!). See you lovely people out there on the road.
Last night while en route to the Holy Ghost compound we ran over a deer. Mind you the deer had already been struck down by some long gone assaliant, we still ran over its carcass at about 70 mph. There is now deer hair on our wheels and a new whine from the engine, particularly when going up hill.
Now, after waking to a wonderful feast of biscuits and gravy with loaded scrambeled eggs prepared by Jaime Coggins and Kim (again thank you!) we have set off safely for New Bern for our next stop on this jaunt up along the mid-Atlantic coast. Along the way, we encountered a radio station that played ‘Ghostbusters’ by Ray Parker Jr, ‘Superstitious’ by Stevie Wonder, ‘Thriller’ by Micheal Jackson, and ‘Monster Mash’ in that order. We were pleased.
Thank you to everyone who came out last night in Roanoke, we will be back soon!

With another Tuesday comes another sultry, smooth Dirty Bourbon burlesque residency as part of the Big Busk! at The Wolf’s Den (828 S. Peters) tonight! If you have yet to make it to one of these shows, then Buster you’re one of two things. Dead or you let your Tuesdays at work get you way too down. Come sit and hoot and holler for the lovely and mysterious Sin Lillies Burlesque Revue and the boys and maybe enjoy a shot of bourbon or two, it’s almost hump day anyway.
Tonight will be a little extra special as the boys welcome Bootsy back from his recent mission trip to Belize. Much props and many thank yous to Chris Guccione of Booty Trove and Bill Fletcher of 27 Lights for helping to hold down the fort while Bootsy was away.
On unrelated note, we bought a van. Scary? Yea, why wouldn’t it be? Exhilarating? Even more so. Here’s a shot of it, our lovely van model Anna and Big Charlie knew it was being taken at the time. Noah did not.
Yes that’s right. Dirty Bourbon River Show will be performing the Free Love EP in its entirety at the Neutral Ground tonight 7.15. However, DBRS will not be the only band playing a record in its entirety. Glasgow will be on hand to preform their stellar rock opera, 1986. Yes that is correct, two bands, two whole records played from minute one to the recordings conclusion.
Not enough? That’s fine, we got more for ya. Everyone, yes I mean EVERYONE who comes through the door will recieve a free copy of the Free Love EP to take home. And a sticker! And on top of all of that, as a special treat Dirty Bourbon will have Joe Shirley of Easy Company sitting in on accordion and keyboards throughout the night.
The details: July 15th (TONIGHT) at Neutral Ground Cafe, 5110 Danneel St NOLA, Doors open at 9, Glasgow on at 10 with DBRS to follow.
Free Love…Get Some.
