I’ve finally reached that point on the road where I’ve collected too many records and I have no more space for them in the van….oh well.
For this edition of BBR I’ve chosen a record from a little well known band called FUCKIN’ CREEDENCE ….actually it’s Creedence Clearwater Revival and the album is Cosmo’s Factory!
I picked up this album in a Salvation Army for maybe $2. I also bought a few VHS tapes for maybe $2 as well. It’s a good thing when you can find great things for hardly any money!
Tonight we’re rocking the walls in Flagstaff, AZ at The Green Room! Check it out!

Have you streamed our newest music video for Animal yet? If not, take a minute to check out the video above and share it with a few friends! The track’s audio was engineered and produced by Craig Schumacher, a Tucson local, and tonight we’ll be holding a release party at the Hotel Congress (in Tucson) to honor this wonderful video’s release in the flesh!
Local Tucson bands Two Door Hatchback and Sweet Ghosts will kick off the show at 9pm and 10pm respectively, and then we’ll close out the night with a big one starting at 11pm. Show is free to all. Come get down and celebrate this wildness!
Our newest music video for Animal is now live and rolling! Check it out!
This is our 9th official music video, from our 9th, just-released studio album “Important Things Humans Should Know”. The introduction to the video was hand-animated by Noah on the road during the first 2 months of our Important Things Tour (April & May 2015). The video and recording also features a handmade, fully-functional shotgun guitar (which Noah built himself). It is the only one known to exist in the world and took a year to make.
The video was filmed by Noah and up-and-coming New Orleans-based photographer Joshua Bradsted (whose work has been featured in Rolling Stone, The NY Times, Paste, and many more).
Hope yall enjoy! And thanks again to Mxdwn for hosting the premiere! Much love, and please share it everywhere!
As we push off through the Phoenix Metropolitan Area for a few shows in what has been the driest, hottest few days of out trip so far, our collective minds can’t help but drift back towards home. I want to share a tune with you today that has tremendous magic powers.
‘Do You Know What it Means’ has been played many, many times – over 40 artists have recorded a version since it was written in 1947. The original version was played by Louis Armstrong and sung by Billie Holliday for the movie “New Orleans”, which came out in the same year. I think my personal favorite is the All-Louie version (find it here if you ain’t heard it yet). He sings his New Orleans to you from across time and space, wormhole-ing you straight to the French Quarter every listen through.
However, this song is special regardless of who is behind the mic. Apart from a great set of trad changes in the A section, a wonderfully organic modulation at the bridge, and poetic lyrics that practically paint a picture in your mind, there’s still something else that makes this song special. See, everyone’s New Orleans is a little bit different. Nobody has walked into the same Canal Street twice. As such, this song gives everyone a slightly different vehicle to show their New Orleans to the world. You can’t sing this song without closing your eyes and reflecting on what that beautiful, busted up city means to you. And that, friends, makes for a powerful, poignant 4-7 minutes of musical expression.
As wth all of the ‘tunes from…’ posts, I encourage you to spend some time with these changes and words. This time, however, the exersize is not one of technique but of soul. Find that place this song takes you. It could be uptown or downtown, mid city or central city, anywhere in between – just find wherever it is this old New Orleans ballad brings you, and show that place to the world. Sometimes, our most meaningful adventures remove us not from our chairs, but from our bodies – even if only for a moment.
Tonight we hit the stage after a few days of recovery and rest. Come find us in Prescott this evening at the Prescott Center For The Arts. We hit at 7pm and tickets run $20 for an evening of merriment, joviality, ruckus, and din. Come out, bring friends, and let us show you our New Orleans.
Until the next post,
Adam

Salutations, friends! For this edition of BBR I’ve chosen a record I recently picked up by a native of Colorado!
Mr Paul Whiteman, “The King of Jazz,” folks
I’ll admit, when I first bought this album, I was was really just interested in hearing the arrangement of George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue (the first recording of this song ever by the way), but after reading more about Mr, Whiteman on the back side of the album, I had found something much more special! Paul Whiteman was a prolific big band and Jazz composer, having written over 3000 arrangements for his band and others. During the 20s, he became the most popular band leader with an imposing group of up to 35 musicians. By 1922, he was in charge of over 28 ensembles on the east coast and was earning over a $1,000,000 a year. Damn!
So here is a trimmed version of Rhapsody from the movie “King Of Jazz”
Colorado has been so good to us, and we still have more show coming up. Today we’re in beautiful Bond at State Bridge! Showtime is 5:30pm! Come check us out y’all!

While I admit a certain attraction to the grimy, dirty, street art aesthetic we found when I last posted from Texas, there is no argument as to the beauty found within nature. Our current travels extend us across the great state of Colorado, and the streets here are crawling with gorgeous organic graffiti. Here’s some shots from the mean streets of Crestone, CO:
Tonight, the gig is up – literally – in Telluride, CO, where elevation comes second only to celebration. We play at Fly Me To The Moon at 10pm this evening and cannot wait to see you there. Until then..
