Just days ago, we were approved for Kickstarter, a new, revolutionary funding platform for artists, designers, filmakers, musicians, inventors, and the like. Our project: “New Orleans Gypsy Folk Rock Show Mobilizing for the Future” launched yesterday:
We’ve already raised $110, 4% of our $3000 goal. I invite everybody to check it out – and please send a link to anyone you may think be interested. Thank you.
What a wonderful Mardi Gras. What a wonderful fucking Mardi Gras. My god. Still mulling over everything that happened; some of it blurry, most good… where to begin?..
After playing Tipitina’s everything just kind of blends together… We win the Superbowl on Sunday… Mon. hurts the head… Slipped out of Gooslby’s class early and went downtown with a keg and my pirate friends midweek for the Super Bowl parade… then Friday, opened up for Rebirth Brass Band at Cafe Prytania (amazing show, thanks to all that came out), then Sat. blends into Sunday, saw Bootsy on a Thoth float, got pelted, then Lundi Gras took us all by storm… savagely drunk, stumbling around downtown, woke up on somebody’s lawn, delirious, made it to Zulu just in time…
Me & Bootsy sleeping on the ground just before Zulu...
Then I slept a long, long time, and now here I am, Ash Wednesday, full of sins, shedding them slowly, one by one… It’s been a long, wild Mardi Gras… thank you everyone who was a part of it…
Many great new things to come… new songs… going to SXSW… Album’s up on iTunes:
This past Friday at Tipitina’s was by far my favorite show to date. Utterly fucking amazing. Thank you everybody who came out and shared these fine times.Look for live recordings, more photos, video and much more to come. Anyone with pics please please hit them up on the facebook here:
This Friday (1.29.10) I will be going to see my dear friends New Grass Country Club and Bywater stringheads the Tanglers at Cafe Prytania (3400 Prytania, across from Tauro). It will be a good god damn time, and I invite you to come drink whiskey with me there. New Grass has been growing immensely, and is starting to sound pretty nasty.
Jack, Petey & Rob of New Grass Country Club

Can’t wait!!!
