Hello all ~
Just wanted to share a new & tasty song we’re working on – tell us what you think:
It’s from a new concept album we’re working on to (hopefully) release free this September. Enjoy!

Also, another video by AttackSloth poped up of us playin’ on 6th Street:
Also, Aaron Lafont of Groovescapes.com did a really nice post on SXSW:
Man, were those some good times.
And speaking of time, it appears spring break is a mere hours away – I can feel the itchy restlessness brewing on the college campuses – just make sure you’re not headed to Acapulco, ’cause my MGMT teacher says their cutting heads off like crazy over there.
And so, another Friday is upon us. Some good shows to check out:
Noah’s Pick – Booty Trove, New Grass & Revivalists – Tipitina’s – 10pm
Others: Smiley w/ a Knife – Cafe Prytania – 10pm
Blue Party – Republic – 10pm
Sun Hotel – Here Today Gone Tomorrow Thrift Store (Baton Rouge) 8pm
Also, Sun Hotel is headed off for their spring break tour, follow them here: http://www.sunhotelsounds.com/

Wanna join me?
Last but not least, check out this sweet post our friends Holy Ghost Tent Revival did on SXSW & their journey to New Orleans (whick includes a funny moment when Bill Murray throws their drummer into a trashcan:

This Tuesday night (March 23rd) Greensboro, North Carolina 6 piece folksters Holy Tent Ghost Revival will be playing at Cafe Prytania at 10pm. They sound really good – one side of their coin is very folk-rootslike – the other, very ecclectic – mixing in Trombones and Euphoniums for a big, sweet, plump ol’ sound. They’re making their way back home from SXSW, and so we figured we’d invite them out to New Orleans for a good old time.
Check them out here. They’ll be joined by a Dirty Bourbon acoustic set at 9pm, and a New Grass Country Club acoustic set closing out the night at 11pm. $5 bucks. Come get folked up. It’s the good stuff.
SXSW was a huge success! We 2nd lined all up and down 6th street all weekend – played a slammin’ showcase at the Agave Thursday night – and managed to busk enough cash to get back home (thanks to Best Buy for the per diem too!). The Austin Statesmen did a great video featurette on the whole occasion. Check it out here:
Yessir!!! Next up: Greensboro, NC band Holy Tent Ghost Revival will be joining Dirty Bourbon & New Grass at Cafe Prytania this Tuesday (March 23rd) at 9pm! Check the facebook event here.
Rollin’ down that river. Yessir indeed.

Yessir. This Friday (March 12th) Frenchmen St. is gonna be the mother cluckin’ sheit – poppin’ off the brim with fat beats, drunken eyes, lingering smiles… Where you need to be: The Blue Nile. New Orleans Bingo Show! is partnering with the Foburg folks to bring you 4 fat bands – Bears of Blue River, One Man Machine, the Givers, and Yours Truly. Here’s how it’s going down:
Show kicks off at 9:30 pm with Chicago folksters the Bears of Blue River. Easy, smooth, folk soul. Good stuff. NBC Correspondent Rob Hudson said their music makes him “want to walk naked through the woods!”
Next up, at 10:30pm – New Orleans own funky psychedelic pop powerhouse One Man Machine & the Powers that Be. Peep the music here: One Man Machine. Yessir.
Then, come Midnight – Yours Truly takes the stage. The Dirty Bourbon River Show has some special antics planned for you! Many, many new songs, new shenanigans, even a new instrument will be introduced! Come see what we’ve been cookin’ up. It’s wild, a great mix of the old, and a whole lot of the new too. Oooohhh weeeeee!
Closing out the night round 2 am is Foburg Headliner – Lafayette’s Folk Pop Pranksters the Givers. Check ’em out here. They’ll treat you right.
It’s gonna be a damn fine night, chalked full of some damn good music and people. I hope you all can make it out. $10 gets you access all night – the Blue Nile is at 532 Frenchmen Street.
Also, tonight (Thur, March 11th) I’ll be emceeing (& playing a couple songs with 27light) a SXSW fundraiser for us, New Grass, 27 lights, and friends at Cafe Prytania. Tix are $5, all proceeds go to Austin Stipends for all Chkn & Egg artists. That way, we can afford to spread the music! Cafe P is at 3445 Prytania, across from Touro Infirmary.
Last, but not least – we have a website: www.dirtybourbonrivershow.com. Made it ourselves, from scratch. Pretty slick, eh? Soon we’ll feed the blog through there (and get rid of myspace). And as always, let us now if there’s anything else you want to see.
Until then,
~ Noah
Yarghdeharghhargh! Week one of argh wonderful Kickstarter project now drawing to a close. It’s been a good 1st run. Thank you so much to argh first 13 backers – $610/$3,ooo now raised – that’s 20%!! Yessssirrreee! 20%!!!
