For one night and one night only The DIrty Bourbon River Show is in the great state of Washington. Tonight were in Seattle at the Triple Door with Seattle’s own Nu Klezmer Army! Show starts at 8:00.

1 Bootsy’s Box of Records pt 3

This week we will take a look at one of my favorite recording artists – Herb Alpert’s Tijuana Brass.

With over 72 million albums sold worldwide, Alpert’s musical accomplishments include five No. 1 albums, nine Grammy awards, fourteen platinum albums, and fifteen gold albums. He is the only recording artist to hit No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 pop chart as both a vocalist and an instrumentalist.

It is a personal mission of mine to collect all of the Herb Alpert and Tijuana Brass albums, and so far I have 11 out of 24 albums. His music puts me in a good place, and I hope it does the same fore you!

Ladies and gentlemen,

We’re still kicking it hard on tour, and we’re about to depart the beautiful Southwest for our debut set of shows in the Pacific Northwest! We’re really excited about the next couple of weeks, but I figured you might enjoy my little collage of random moments from our stint in New Mexico and Arizona. Enjoy!

0 Looking for new Music?

Well folks maybe I can be of service. See yesterday Jimmy went off to the huge Musical Instrument Museum here in Phoenix and came back with all sorts of photos for us. Looking through his shots of various world percussion from various countries really set me back in my chair – I’ve got so much to learn! So I began digging.

As I searched around for different world drums and sounds, I came across a website I will probably be spending a majority of the remainder of the year scanning through. Its catalog of artists is literally that grand!

WOMAD, World Of Music, Art, and Dance, is an international festival bringing together artists from all over the globe, and all of their featured artists deserve high praise. It’s an organization I hope that we can be apart of someday.

Please check it out and let me know what you think. Let me know who you’ve listened to. And of course let me know if you find some hip-shaking, heart-pounding rhythms.

I thought about it for a while, and figured you beautiful people might find some of the random moments in our camp entertaining/interesting/revealing, so I’ve decided to start grabbing little snippets of our adventures around the country and in NOLA and sharing them with you.
