What’s up y’all!? Happy Holidays and all that good stuff to you and yours!

Today I’m excited to share with y’all a record I literally picked up an hour ago at a local spot here in New Orleans – Kitchen Witch! It’s a wonderful store on Bayou Rd Market and run by a lovely lady named Debbie and the whole store is filled with cookbooks of all types – and records!

A few days I was in a local bar and heard Ms Teena Marie on their radio and got all types of excited about the music – and today I just so happened to find her record – It Must Be Magic!

If you haven’t heard her music, check it out! Her band is killing!

Tonight we’re playing in Ocean Springs, MS at the Government St Grocery! Hitting at 10pm! Take it easy y’all!

It feels good to be home in New Orleans! We’re excited to be playing again at the Maple Leaf Bar, and we’re going all night too yall!

Yeah buddy!! We had a most excellent night yesterday in Chicago! Schubas was jumping last night thanks to everyone who came out and partied with us!!

Today, we’re heading out to beautiful and magnificent Michigan to rock the walls at the Tip Top deluxe in Grand Rapids tonight with Chuck Whiting and the Tip Rail Ramblers!!

We’re excited to be in Michigan for the next week with plenty of awesome shows coming up so check the calendar and spread the word!!

What’s up y’all? The sun is shining and it’s looking like another beautiful day in Colorado, and I’ve got a stack of new records on my lap.

Yeah y’all, it’s been a good haul so far, there’s more too but I don’t have enough lap space! I’m excited about all of em too but especially for that ZZ Top record – it’s a live one from their concert in New
Orleans at The Warehouse!

Tonight we’re in gorgeous Gold Hill and performing at the Gold Hill Inn! Showtime is 9pm! It’s sure to be a hot and sweaty one! See y’all there!

Holy hell! We had a wild night at the Real Watersports Invitational in Waves, NC – Big shout out to everyone who came out and took care of us last night. If only we could stay just one more night for the Bikini Fashion Show!! real watersports.jpg

But alas, we have even BIGGER things on the horizon y’all! Tonight in Greensboro – we’re gonna be blowing the roof off the Blind Tiger and we’ll have some help! That’s right folks we’ve got a 3 band bill lined up with the our good buddies Ellis Dyson & the Shambles AND Dr. Bacon! We’ve been talking about putting a show like this together for too long and damn we’re excited it’s finally happening!

Yes y’all! It’s the Show y’all! We’re coming back to beautiful Detroit this weekend for 2 nights at the gorgeous Cliff Bells! That’s tonight and tomorrow night with multiple sets each night so don’t miss what is always a damn good time. We’ve got new tunes for y’all and are excited to get y’all moving to em!

Last week we played with Ellis Dyson and the Shambles – awesome band from Carrboro, NC – and Ellis was telling me about this tune by Kamasi Washington. His version of Cherokee. Well he sent me the video a few days ago, and damn it might be on the same level of cool with Freddy Jackson sippin a milkshake in a snow storm (for all my Outkast fans)

I picked this album up in Fort Wayne, IN at The Wooden Nickel last week for under a buck, and have listened to it a few times since we’ve been back home. I hadn’t listened to much Nancy Wilson before, and as soon as I saw the cover I knew I had no reason not be buy it. Needles to say it’s definitely becoming a favorite. Hope y’all enjoy!

Tonight we’re playing in New Orleans and rocking the walls at The Maison on Frenchmen St. – Charles Bronson style – from 10 to Midnight! It’s a free show too so come on out and spend your Friday with us!

I’ve finally reached that point on the road where I’ve collected too many records and I have no more space for them in the van….oh well.

For this edition of BBR I’ve chosen a record from a little well known band called FUCKIN’ CREEDENCE ….actually it’s Creedence Clearwater Revival and the album is Cosmo’s Factory!

I picked up this album in a Salvation Army for maybe $2. I also bought a few VHS tapes for maybe $2 as well. It’s a good thing when you can find great things for hardly any money!

Tonight we’re rocking the walls in Flagstaff, AZ at The Green Room! Check it out!
