Sadly, after six wild, wonderful, raucous months we will no longer be able to continue as house band for the Big Busk! burlesque night. With increased touring and workloads, we simply and unfortunately do not have enough time to continue.
Yes, we too will miss those curvacious conditions...
But hot damn, the memories… such a wonderful and unique rock’n’roll comedia erótica variety hour we have created and experienced… but have no fear – Dirty Bourbon and burlesque come hand in hand, and there will surely be more to come…
This Saturday (July 10th) we ride west to Lafayette, LA for a charcoal-fingered romp’n’stomp at Artmosphere. Our third appearance, this time we will be joined by the Howdies, Lafayette’s own SwingRoots’n’Rockabilly gentlemen – whiskey orbs, fingergloves, a duck possibly. Yess indeed. And, in a couple of hours, the delivery man’ll be dropping off 200 copies of the new album “Free Love”, which we’ll be handing out for free at the show.
Check out the Howdies here. They sound damn good. ‘Nuff said.
Our newest musical odyssey – The Free Love EP – is now finally finished!!! Check out the sweet cover art we just finished setting:
Expect the digital release this July 3rd on Bandcamp (also Big Charlie’s birfhday – come party w. us, Debauche, kegs & burlesque @ Banks St. that night) and the physical release/listening party at the Neutral Ground on July 15th.
First & foremost – WOw – Holy Ghost Tent Revival rocked the mutha cluckin’ house last night @ Cafe P – Burlesque dancers, Dirty Bourb ‘n’ New Grass an’ all that sweet stuff made for the perfect mix – they’re like Dr. Dog meets Old Crow w/ some Avett Bros & Dixeland. Check them here: HGTR Website
F-Minus: A Free Comic from comics.com
Hehe. Isn’t that a hoot & a holler. Wednesday. I kind of want a daquiri… hmmm… where was I?
Oh yes, next up: New Grass Country Club will be releasing their debut full-length album (co-produced & recorded by Noah Adams) at Cafe Prytania April 9th.
We’re trying to raise money for our summer tour. Please check out the project here:

This Tuesday night (March 23rd) Greensboro, North Carolina 6 piece folksters Holy Tent Ghost Revival will be playing at Cafe Prytania at 10pm. They sound really good – one side of their coin is very folk-rootslike – the other, very ecclectic – mixing in Trombones and Euphoniums for a big, sweet, plump ol’ sound. They’re making their way back home from SXSW, and so we figured we’d invite them out to New Orleans for a good old time.
Check them out here. They’ll be joined by a Dirty Bourbon acoustic set at 9pm, and a New Grass Country Club acoustic set closing out the night at 11pm. $5 bucks. Come get folked up. It’s the good stuff.
