Two weeks after blazing a trail across Louisiana and Texas, Dirty Bourbon headlines tonight (5/21) at Cafe Prytania in a night that is sure to be filled with some hijinks that will knock your socks off an shit. With us will be Fuzzy and the Shopping Carts, fresh off their selection to the Windsor Court’s Top 140 New Orleans characters, a full list of which you can check out at KissMyGumbo. Well done to them boys eh?
Also joining in the revelry will be DeBauche, local Ukrainian folksters and purveyors of wild times, the night is sure to be a wafty night of whimsy clouded by the booze and the bar’s smoky haze.
Tonight we will also be a send off for a month to our bassman, Jimmy Williams, as he travels to France with his sensational brass band Booty Trove so that they can cut a record. Wish them well if you catch them and keep your eyes peeled for that record when it drops, it’s sure to be a gem. Fret not for Jimmy will be safely back holding down that funky bass line by mid June.

New Grass Country Club, friends of ours, are releasing their debut album April 9th @ Cafe Prytania (Wine & Spirits)! It is entitled Join The Club. Come see these five young ruffians display their scruffy vagabond style jams cus basically thats whats up! They have toiled hard on this for a good long while and now they wanna party wit yall. I’ll testify that this record is nothing short of 11 straight bangin soon-to-be-anthems for this and the next generation. We’ll be at the party and so will Sun Hotel, so ya know it sure to be that kind of crazy party. For those penny pinchers, Cover is only $5. For those more generous, the album is gonna cost $5 too! $10 to see 3 bands and get a cd?!? That’s cheaper than a movie, son!
