Ladies and gents,

Newness abounds!  After a wild and wonderful show in Denver last night, we hit the road today for a new spot for us… Paonia!  Paradise Theater will be the venue for all the Big Brass Circus Rock shenanigans you can handle, with Grizzly Pears sparking things off at 8pm.  We’ll pack in 2 (two) sets of musical madness this Friday night, so come make the hang!

This is our second-to-last show in beautiful Colorado, before we head off to Reno for Halloween.  See you there!

~Slyfox

P.S.  Enjoy this song about farts  🙂

Hey everybody! We got some cool news out of the DBRS camp this week, as yesterday saw us go live with our new street team effort. The ‘Dirty Bourbon Extended Family‘ (as it has been dubbed) serves to connect us with you awesome folks out there – some might call you the superfans- who are all about seeing, hearing, and supporting live music. Not only does it help us by creating a tight group of friends who can be our eyes and ears on the ground (helping us with flyers, social media sharing, etc), but it gives team members closer access to band news, merch discounts, and opportunities to score free schwag such as exclusive song downloads and tickets to DBRS shows.

If you are one of them folks who loves getting involved, loves supporting independent music, or even just loves being part of the team, please sign up! There’s no better way to stay up to date on the latest and greatest the DBRS has going. As a thanks for all who sign up, we’re hooking y’all up with a giveaway package – including an exclusive, otherwise out-of-print song download.

Follow this link to join the Dirty Bourbon Extended Family today!

Otherwise, we’re excited to be playing in Knoxville tonight after a few days of amazing R&R in Wilmington, NC. The party’s at Barley’s tonight, where we’ll be playing 10pm-late. The show is free and the pizza is delicious. If you’re in the area, there no excuse for mission’ out!

Until the next time,
Adam

Unsatisfied with the range of reed instruments, this instrument maker has been continually pushing the upper and lower limits of well past what was considered possible. From the smallest saxophone commercially produced, to the lowest and largest clarinets, contrabassoons, and subcontrabass saxophones, this man has never stopped making the absolute best instruments in every conceivable register. Here’s a video of Sly getting to try out one of these subcontrabass beasts.

P.S. Early gig tonight at Straight to Ale in Huntsville, AL! Show starts at 7.

For this edition of BBR I’m choosing a new addition to the collection…

Ms. Nancy Wilson’s – All In Love Is Fair!

Track #2 & #3: Try It, You’ll Like It/ There’ll Always Be Forever

I picked this album up in Fort Wayne, IN at The Wooden Nickel last week for under a buck, and have listened to it a few times since we’ve been back home. I hadn’t listened to much Nancy Wilson before, and as soon as I saw the cover I knew I had no reason not be buy it. Needles to say it’s definitely becoming a favorite. Hope y’all enjoy!

Tonight we’re playing in New Orleans and rocking the walls at The Maison on Frenchmen St. – Charles Bronson style – from 10 to Midnight! It’s a free show too so come on out and spend your Friday with us!

Hey y’all! It’s our final gig of the September tour tonight, and with our wheels about to hit the road southbound, I can’t imagine a better, more cliche way to look back on the past month in summary than a good ole’ photo dump. Here’s a behind-the-scenes glance into the Dirty Bourbon River Show’s Midwest adventures :

Somewhere in Tennessee, you can buy gasoline and fireworks on the same receipt. Seems legit.

Note to self: Evangelical Christians do not always make good neighbors for busking.

If you find yourself in St. Louis, Broadway Oyster Bar does not disappoint. Plus, alcoholic root beer in a tall boy? Worth your time.

Possibly the nicest Men’s Room Graffitti I’ve encountered. #SandraLOVE

 Where we’re going, we don’t need roads…

Merch table selfie! This is a fairly accurate snapshot…

Made from a casting of Christopher Walken’s actual face.

  Cleveland from the double rooftop

Bootsy returning to ‘from whence he came’.

Ahhhhhhhh, look how young we all were. Alas, the clock ticks, the world spins, and the beers get emptied – specifically, the ones at Short’s Brewing Company in Bellaire, MI tonight! We’ll be playing the tunes and showing the moves at 8:30pm – the show is free and the beer is good, some come and help us end the tour right.

Michigan tonight, Louisiana tomorrow. Who knows what October brings? Stay tuned to find out where in the world we’ll end up next (Spoiler Alert: North Carolina, Colorado, Nevada – I’m lookin’ at you!!!).

Until the next one,
Adam

Michigan is home to some amazing musicians of all different genres. One of my favorite singers of all times, and biggest inspirations is the Queen herself, Miss Aretha Franklin. She taught me a lot about respecting myself, and demanding it from others. May she get you dancing on this Friday! We head to Petoskey, MI today to knock the socks off the folxs there at the Crooked Tree Arts Center. Doors open at 7:30, show starts at 8! It’s gonna be a good time as we test out a new venue! Enjoy some tunes from Miss Franklin below!

Thurl Ravenscroft: Basso Profundo, actor, greatest voice in the world.

20150923-115701.jpg

You may not think you know who this man with the incredible name is, but I guarantee that you grew up listening to his unbelievably deep, resonant voice. Best known for singing “You’re a mean one Mr. Grinch” and being the voice of Tony the Tiger and countless Disney characters, he also sang backup for Elvis Presley, Bing Crosby and some of the biggest stars of his time. Unique and instantly recognizable, Thurl Ravenscroft is a true badass.

P.S. Gig tonight at the Music Box in Cleveland, OH. Show starts at 8.
