I feel it’s important to wake up every morning and try to be grateful for something, and today is no exception. They say it takes a village to raise a child, but I tell you it takes a veritable army of support to raise a band, and our mothers (both literal and adopted band parents) are the generals! Over the years on the road, they’ve encouraged us, come to our shows (even though they’re often way past their bedtimes), thrown a little extra cash in our pockets in a pinch, fed us when we were hungry, given us beds to sleep in after weeks of couches and floors, and watched us grow as a band from day one. If not for the support we’ve gotten from our very extended family, we wouldn’t be here doing what we do today.
So everyone, take a second today and think about it… no mothers, no Dirty Bourbon River Show! Ladies and gentlemen, go find your mothers, your grandmothers, your great grandmothers, your adopted mothers, and your fairy band mothers and thank them! Thank them for raising you and getting you on your feet, for looking out for you when nobody else will, for being Mom even though you’re a grown-ass man goddamnit, and for the Dirty Bourbon River Show. Pay them a visit or make a phone call or Skype with them on the computer and tell them how grateful you are… it’s worth it.
Now to celebrate this glorious day through the words and song of West Virginia legend, Terry Jackness. Happy Mother’s Day!

Thank you.
Hey slyfox and gentlemen, Thanks for the love for the moms. I have 13 yr daughter who is learning to play the drums, saxophone, bass, And she loves to sing. It can be a little loud but it’s all worth it. So again thanks for recognizing the selfless love of moms. Especially those whose children are infatuated with music
