Beyond excited about my recent score at Guitar Center. This stylish baby comes with a matching bag and stretchy mouth piece. I’m gonna use her for practice while on the road. I think I’ll call her Bessie.
In other news we play tonight in Cambridge Massachusetts at the Lizard Lounge. Doors 8:30, show starts at 9:30. It’s gonna be a great night.

Ladies and gentlemen,
Did you know that Providence, RI was the home and final resting place of one of the literature world’s warmest and fuzziest contributors, H. P. Lovecraft? He was responsible for heart-warming tales like “The Call of Cthulhu,” The Shadow Out Of Time, and At the Mountains of Madness and for spreading joy and love across the world. Just dropping a little wisdom on you. Worth a read sometime!
Tonight we debut in Rhode Island at Providence’s own The Spot Underground where we’ll be opening up for Pink Talking Fish! Show kicks off with us at 10 pm, and the party goes all night! Be there and kick your weekend off right. We’ve now played in over 40 states! exciting stuff.
Wilfried Brandstötter: tubist, professor, actor, badass monster player whose facility and tone quality is matched only by his sense of humor and showmanship.
Wilfried Brandströtter is a founding member of Mnozil Brass and the professor of tuba at the Anton Bruckner University in Linz.
Go and check out everything he has been a part of. You won’t be disappointed.
P.S. Gig tonight at World Cafe Live in Philadelphia, PA. It’s our first show ever in Philadelphia! Come on out and let’s have a good time. Show starts at 8.
For today’s edition of BBR, I’m picking my new copy of Rage Against the Machine’s self-titled album. I received this record as a birthday gift last week, and I just can’t stop looking at it.
This vinyl edition marks the 20th Anniversary of the initial album release. As many RATM fans know, the album cover for this release features the historical photograph of the self-immolation of Thich Quang Durc. However, this new XX edition of the album features the image on the vinyl itself.
So because it is Earth Day and because people need a real swift kick in the ass when it comes to caring for our planet, I’ve chosen this album. I hope it lights a fire in you today.
Tonight we’re in Brooklyn, NY at the Brooklyn Bowl opening for folks rockers Cabinet! Show starts at 8pm.

Gig tonight at The Southern Cafe & Music Hall in Charlottesville, Virginia. Charlottesville’s own funk outfit, the Bobby Midnight Band, will start the show at 8:30. Dirty Bourbon will close it out at 9:30.
Happy Record Store Day Everybody!!
For this edition of BBR I’m gonna share with y’all what some amazing friends gave me last night for Mein Geburtstag.
Amazing friends indeed, that’s Rage Against the Machine’s self-titled album (XX edition), Jack DeJohnette’s Pictures, Rolling Stones’ Sticky Fingers (with zipper action), and The Great Adventures of Slick Rick! I mean does it get much better than that? ….. No, it doesn’t.
So for today’s featured album I’m sticking with another hip-hop classic, “The Great Adventures of Slick Rick!”
Tonight we’re blowing up the great GREY EAGLE in Asheville, NC. Hank West and The Smoking Hots are laying it down at 9 and Dirty Bourbon will set it ablaze at 10.
See y’all there. Boots

Now, enjoy some celebratory second line music, Bavarian style, courtesy of our friends, Magnetic Ear!
Party tonight at the Charleston Pour House! The Butternecks will start the night off at 10 and Dirty Bourbon will close it out at 11:15.
For this next edition of BBR, I’ll be sharing with y’all a hip-hop classic in my collection – Paul’s Boutique by the Beastie Boys.
Noah gave me this record a few years back on my birthday and it’s definitely one of my prized collections.
Easily one of the most influential hip-hop albums of all time, the amount of samples used on this album is astounding and credit must be given to the Dust Brothers who used over 105 songs to create the backing tracks. (They were even sued by the Beatles!)
So check out the album that Miles Davis claims to have never grown tired listening to.
Tonight we’re at Jaxlive in Jacksonville, Fl with Dr. SirBrother and Brent Byrd & The Suitcase Gypsies.
Doors open at 8pm. More info HERE
See yall there. ~Boots.
