Ladies and gentlemen,
As a musician, it’s important to always experiment and stretch your boundaries to discover new sounds and ideas, and there’s no shortage of inspiration out there to get your brain working. In recent years, I’ve dipped my toes into the realm of playing multiple horns at the same time, but I’m sure as hell not the first!
Dig this video of the master hisownself, Rahsaan Roland Kirk! Yeah, I can handle the tenor and bari at the same time, but this man decided to combat his blindness by learning to play pretty much everything in the woodwind family – and then some more – simultaneously! Dig it.
Also, once you’ve got your face secured back to your head, we return tonight to Pittsburgh’s own Club Cafe to entertain and enthrall all night long with local talent, Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo and Uke & Tuba! Doors at 7, show at 8. Come make the hang!

Hello folks, it’s time for another installment of BBR!
This week I’m pulling out another new record from my birthday bag and going with the classic Rolling Stones’ album, “Sticky Fingers!”
Released in 1971, it’s considered the Stones’ best album having gone triple platinum with hits like “Wild Horses,” “Brown Sugar,” and “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking.” This edition I have features the controversial “zipper” that when unzipped reveals and tiny pair of whitey-tighties compliments of Andy Warhol. (This zipper would eventually be changed because it caused damage to the vinyl during shipment) It’s a wild cover, one that VH1 named the “No. 1 Greatest Album Cover” of all time.
So I hope enjoy this album, I know I certainly do…
Tonight we’re at Cafe Nine in New Haven, CT. The Devil Plays Poker opens up at 8pm. Dirty Bourbon is set to follow! We’ll see y’all there.

* Shoutout to Mike and Amanda for this record. Good people in North Carolina y’all, even if they are Panthers fans..
0 My New Melodica
Beyond excited about my recent score at Guitar Center. This stylish baby comes with a matching bag and stretchy mouth piece. I’m gonna use her for practice while on the road. I think I’ll call her Bessie.
In other news we play tonight in Cambridge Massachusetts at the Lizard Lounge. Doors 8:30, show starts at 9:30. It’s gonna be a great night.

0 “I Am Providence”
Ladies and gentlemen,
Did you know that Providence, RI was the home and final resting place of one of the literature world’s warmest and fuzziest contributors, H. P. Lovecraft? He was responsible for heart-warming tales like “The Call of Cthulhu,” The Shadow Out Of Time, and At the Mountains of Madness and for spreading joy and love across the world. Just dropping a little wisdom on you. Worth a read sometime!
Tonight we debut in Rhode Island at Providence’s own The Spot Underground where we’ll be opening up for Pink Talking Fish! Show kicks off with us at 10 pm, and the party goes all night! Be there and kick your weekend off right. We’ve now played in over 40 states! exciting stuff.

0 Bootsy’s Box of Records pt 9
For today’s edition of BBR, I’m picking my new copy of Rage Against the Machine’s self-titled album. I received this record as a birthday gift last week, and I just can’t stop looking at it.
This vinyl edition marks the 20th Anniversary of the initial album release. As many RATM fans know, the album cover for this release features the historical photograph of the self-immolation of Thich Quang Durc. However, this new XX edition of the album features the image on the vinyl itself.
So because it is Earth Day and because people need a real swift kick in the ass when it comes to caring for our planet, I’ve chosen this album. I hope it lights a fire in you today.
Tonight we’re in Brooklyn, NY at the Brooklyn Bowl opening for folks rockers Cabinet! Show starts at 8pm.
